What if you knew the meat you ate came from animals that lived a natural antibiotic free life on a farm whose owners really cared? These pepperettes are made from pigs that were free to roam and fed organic grains. In fact we loved these so much we are going to start using free range chickens and other meats in our pies. We would be supporting local farmers from Millbank in the heart of Mennonite country in Ontario. We just tried the ground mutton burgers recently. The meat is more firm, richer tasting. There is just something to be admired about the old world ways of animal husbandry practices. Our chicken pies are the first to be changed over.
The Lum Family
My parents were part of the legacy of Lichee Gardens. Food has always fascinated me. My dad always told me to never serve any food that you wouldn't eat yourself. I wanted to bring back the nostalgia of yesteryear, classic food that we knew as a child.
